Just crack me?

It is amazing how many people call in to just get cracked.  Chiropractic is so much more if applied properly.  Your nervous system controls and regulates every living function in your body.  If it is out of adjustment, ill health will follow.  If it is in adjustment, good health will follow.  The adjustment to the spine sounds like something that should be done with great care.  The analogy that I always use is the piano.  The more it is played, the more it needs to be tuned.  An expert with the ear to hear notes is called to do the job.  He doesn't haphazardly bang the keys into tune.  He delicately tunes them with instruments and the trained ear.  A gifted Chiropractor has the instruments and the trained hands to locate and correct spinal pressure.  My dad, who has been practicing for close to 50 years told me a story of a patient who came in to his office.  This fella wanted a $10 adjustment like the guy down the road gives.  My dad said, "Sure."  As the man proceeded to take his winter jacket off, my dad stopped him and said, "No, just leave your jacket on."  The man got the idea and decided that he didn't want a $10 adjustment.  So when choosing a Chiropractor who is going to give you quality care, find someone who is going to take the time to tune your body with delicate care.

Changes on x-rays.

Recently, I have been really excited about what I do.  Not that I haven't been excited in the past, but what I have found recently has upped it to a new level.  The big question has always been, "Can we stop and reverse the degenerative process?"  We will never know unless we take post x-rays.  In our office I like to take progress films 90 days after the initial pictures.  My faith in what I do is always increased when I see a positive structural change on the post x-rays.  The best part of it all is when a patient smiles after seeing that they are improving  not only symptomatically, but structurally.  The same applies for patients that were advised to continue their corrective chiropractic care and declined.  I had one return 5 years later and found that she progressed from a phase 1 to a phase 2 degenerative process in her lumbar and cervical spine.  This all happened in a very short time span.  The subluxation is progressive.  It has a beginning, a present, and a future.  This all happens many times without symptoms.  In fact this happens most of the time without symptoms.  I urge all people not to wait until it hurts.  Chiropractic is part of a lifestyle.  When added to your other healthy habits such as diet, exercise, sleep and positive mental attitude, you will reap a healthy body that will pay you dividends for years to come.
