The Silent Killer
I always explain to my patients that there is a big difference between the pain that they are experiencing and the problem that caused it. If you were to ask the average citizen on the road what health is, what would they tell you? The most common response is, "When I am feeling fine, of course". We all want to go through life with no pain and I have always heard the phrase, "If it aint broke, don't fix it". The problem with this attitude is that a majority of the public does not know when there is a problem. You see, symptoms are always the last thing to appear and the first thing to go away when dealing with a disease process. Also, did you know that 93% of your nervous systems function has nothing to do with sensory pain. Wow! It all goes to the function of your muscle function and also to the function of your organs, blood vessels, and glands. Since your nervous system controls and regulates every living function in your body, wouldn't it be smart to cultivate it and take care of it. Chiropractors are trained in the prevention and detection of spinal stress on your nervous system which for the last century has been called "The Silent Killer". Keep the spine healthy and everything else follows.
