So Many Drugs?

Ask someone over the age of 65 if they are on any medications and some will give you a long list and many will give you a couple that they are taking most definitely for the rest of their lives. If these meds were the answer, we would have the healthiest nation in the world, wouldn't you think? Well, America, according to the WHO (World Health Organization) ranks 37th in world health. Don't get me wrong, modern medicine has saved lives. I think that we would probably rank #1 when it came to first aid and crisis care. Medical care was designed to do just that, dig someone out of a hole and place them on their two feet. Done. Please let me explain this scenario with a story. A house is on fire and the fire department shows up to do what they do best, extinguish the fire. After much work and determination they succeed in controlling the blaze and the house is saved. However, much damage has been done. Normally, the owners of the house would contact the restoration experts (carpenters, plumbers, electricians, etc.), but instead the firemen end up sticking around to rebuild the house. Nothing gets accomplished because building a house with axes and hoses doesn't help build the house.

Do you see the parallel? Our bodies which were formed according to natural laws cannot be built using man made chemicals. They will only be destroyed. I am going to end this session with a quote from someone you may recognize.

"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest her or his patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease."

Here we go!

Well, this is my first blog. Pretty exciting. I just have to get warmed up a bit and I'm sure I will be able to get the creative juices flowing. My main purpose in starting is to have a more effective way to communicate natural living practices to the community.
I guess I can start by telling a little about myself. I am a Chiropractor in Washington Township, MI. I graduated from Life University in Marietta, GA in 1996. I have a lovely wife and four beautiful children. I come from a family of five Chiropractors who also practice in Michigan. My father has been in practice now for 46 years! I guess you can say I grew up with it. It's not just that I grew up with Chiropractic, but that I grew up with living life from a natural standpoint. We truly did our best to live our lives within the natural laws that God had put in place. What I mean is that we understood that health could only come from obeying the natural laws of staying in good physical condition, eating good nutrition, and staying mentally healthy. All daily stresses can be linked to one of these three categories. It was only natural that I would follow in my father's footsteps. Outside of my vocation lies my greatest passion. My family and I are devoted followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. My Christian faith is central to everything that I do. It is my Lord that supplies all that I need and is the source of every blessing in my life. In my spare time I enjoy sailing my sunfish. I am actively involved in racing against other sailors who also sail sunfish.
I look forward to corresponding with you on health matters as they relate to the spirit, soul, and body.
